Training Programme in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy
APPWA offers a Training Programme in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, with an intake every five years. The next intake will begin with group supervision commencing in September 2010, followed by the formal commencement of the training in February 2011.
From 2011 the APPWA Training Programme will offer a choice of two streams, in adult psychotherapy or in child and adolescent psychotherapy. Theoretical teaching for the two streams will be combined where appropriate. The course will involve concurrent participation in three elements of training
- theory seminars
- supervision of clinical practice with two training cases
- personal psychotherapy
The Training Programme accords with the training standards set by the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Association of Australasia (PPAA).
